Does anyone know for a good quality fruit and veg market in Wales now? There used to be one in Cardiff but it disappeared to make way for St Davids 2! :T

I can't include links sorry because of spammers. I suggest you phone Hannah James telephone number 02920 232943 or 07717 205438 and enquire about your nearest community food co-operative. I use the Llanrumney food co-operative based in Siloam Baptist Church, Llanrumney on a Friday morning which is open 10am to noon. If you search using Siloam and Llanrumney you will find directions. A bag of veg is £2.50/bag of fruit £2.50/Bag of salad £2.50/Bag of stir fry £2.50/4 pints of milk £1. They also sell bread and eggs. (Bags are carrier bag size). You could ask to see a sample of what the bag includes before you order. For example, salad bag tends to include lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions, pepper, red onion, cress, etc. I should point out that you don't get to choose your fruit/veg/salad/stir fry but for that price you can't go wrong! Also, you might get to try fruit/veg you haven't tried before! (I got to try physalis one week)
If you decide that's not for you, you could do a search on "farmers markets cardiff" I haven't actually got round to going to one yet but a friend recommended the one on riverside.0 -

Hi, I'm glad to be of help. I hope it works out for you. Try not to be put off if you get something you're not sure about...I had a mango one week which none of the family like on it's own but searched for mango recipes and came up with mango upside down cake...it was lush and a good way to sneak fruit into fussy kids!!
For anyone reading this, in receipt of Healthy Start vouchers, you can use those for your shopping with the community food co-operative as far as I'm aware. Again, can't add links because of being a newbTry a search on healthystart and nhs.
Thanks for adding the link vixster0 -
There are some fab fruit and veg stalls in the main cardiff market. Otherwise there are some great deals at Bessemmer road market, off ninian park road. also splott market on a sunday
I use the local food co-op and get a tenners worth of fruit, veg, salad and stir fry stuff every week. My shopping bill has plummetted, were eating much more healthily and if I know I have a rough week budget wise coming up I just order more. Its well worth joining one near you. £2.50 per bag for fruit and veg which would cost you about £4-5 in asda/tescoDFW £10923 (nov2014)0
