LawnMower Problem

I am using a lawnmower for the first time, and just this evening I have, I think smoked qualcast electric mower.
I could see smoke coming out of the electric motor (one side of the mower). I then let it rest for some time and tried to start it again.
once restarted the blades (mower) is not moving (rotating) but only the sound coming out of the body possibly of the electric motor.

Any ideas of what could have gone wrong.
I suspect I have blown the motor off.
Is it possible to buy a new motor?

Do you mean the mower is new - used for first time or old and first time you have ever mowed??

If it's new, just take it back under warranty?

if its under warranty get it changed.
if its old then skip it. a repair will cost more than a new mower.
electric mowers are dirt cheap.

This was borrowed from a friend, and apparantly it is out of warranty now. so I guess I have to buy a new one. it doesnot seem worth repairing.

I checked the pricing.
The replacement motor costs £67 where as you can buy the new mower for £80.
