How do I answer a question on ebay

Hi.
A buyer asked a question on an item I was selling but due to my computer being out of action at the time I was unable to answer the question whilst the listing was active.
I have tried replying now but ebay won't let me. Is there a way of replying when you don't know the other persons e-mail address.
Thank you.

    Hi,

If you have the buyers username you could do a search for that member - click on advance search and then down the left hand side there is an option find member - type in their username then search. When the results come up click contact member.

Has the auction that he was bidding on finished now? Have you logged into myebay to try and answer the question

    Hi.
Yes the auction has ended so I can't e-mail them that way.
I tried what you suggested but it won't let me contact them that way either.

    Hi,

Dont know why it wont let you contact them that way. I just tried it with someone and it works with me. Sign into your ebay, click on advanced search, click on find member, type in their user id, when the results come up click on the correct result, when their page comes up on the right hand side there is an option contact member?

    Hi.
I have just retried this but it is still not letting me send an e-mail. I think it may be because I have no previous transactions with this member.

    Hi.
I have feedback of 77 and the person I am trying to contact has feedback of 30 so tht can't be the reason in this case.

No they don't have any items they are selling.
Do you think that maybe because I have a buisness account its not working. Is the account you tried on buisness or personal.

I think this is a result of ebay's measures to stop you trading off ebay.

If they hadn't withheld their email address you'd be able to reach them.
