I have been trying to get pg for 3 yrs with 3 mcs
Not my last period but the one before was 2.5 weeks late and my last one was 5 days early and light.
the last few days I have been spotting so i did a pregancy test and its positive, I am not due on for almost 3 weeks so I am very confused
Dont know how to feel as know this will end badly.
How can I be pg when I had a period last month?
PLease help:(

it is very very possible to have periods and be pregnant. I didn't find out I was expecting my dd until I was almost 5 months pg, I had a period each month for the first 3 months and it was only when my 4th period was very light and didn't last long I thought I might be pg and took a test which came back positive. I got a heck of a shock when I went for my dating scan and was told I was 6 months pregnant!!!
My ds was planned and I found out I was expecting him very early on, I had 3 light periods/spotting around about the time my periods would have been due which totally freaked me out as I'd had a m/c 2 months earlier. Rushed to see the doc who told me it is actually very very common for pg women to have break through bleeding and doesn't mean that you will loose the baby or that there is anything wrong.
So on the face of it I would say Congratulations, it sounds as though you are pg to me

Your "period" may of been implantation bleeding. I had 2 lots of light bleeding before period was due as well as period pain so if I hadn't of been trying for a baby I would of thought it was my period.BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120

Mine are all pretty much the same as Smartie says.. I have a bleed at about 5-6 weeks and have had several healthy babies.
My mother has periods all the way through her pregnancy with my sister.
Congratulations!!
Now get yourself off to the doc to get your antenatal care all sorted.. They may do the dating scan a bit early and use the dates from your last period before the 'light' period... though you may be pregnant from the cycle which was 2.5 weeks late!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks everyone, going to the docs tomorrow, but cant help thinking its bad news. If my last period wasnt real then i would be about 8+ weeks now and the only symptoms I have is the bleeding. Not good news.
The worst thing was this is our last month of trying. We were sending off the adoption forms in 2 weeks and if I have had another mc we will have to wait another 6 months to apply to adopt.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -
after 3 mc I can totally understand why you are fearing the worse, I did the same after just one. Thanks everyone, going to the docs tomorrow, but cant help thinking its bad news. I had absolutely NO pg symptoms with my dd and "periods" they weren't even that light. I was in college studding for my A-levels so was living the typical student lifestyle, drinking and eating junk no food or drink aversions morning sickness or anything like that. I genuinely had NO idea I was pg, even when I looked back for even the tiniest hint that I might be pg I couldn't find anything at all.
I know they are expensive but one of those clear blue digital pg tests that tell you how far on you are might be a help to put your mind at rest.0 -
I personally wouldnt rush out to buy a clearview digital if you think you may be 8wks or more they are only advisable upto 6wks and can give even more confusing info if used after that time slot. I would presume with your history the doctor would book you straight in for a scan.
Congratulations by the way and fingers crossed everything works out for you this time :-) x:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Good luck with the doctor tomorrow....i will be thinking of you! (((HUG)))) xDetermind to make a better life for ME and my children

I have a couple of friends who have used them after having a basic test come back + but after a 'strange' period took them for peace of mind. Didn't realise they were only effective for the first few weeks. 0 -
Thanks everyone. I will phone the drs as soon as they open
Hopefully I will have a scan this week. Hubby is going away this weekend too. grrrrrrrrrr. couldnt have happened at a worse time.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -
The light period a few days out of place could well have been implantation bleeding
You don't KNOW this one will end badly, it's natural for you to be worried after having several miscarriages but you still have a good chance of a sucessful pregnancy - I do have the percentages somewhere of your chances of sucessful pregnancy after X number of miscarriages0
