HSBC Student Account

I have applied for the HSBC student account, and an MP4 player should be on the way, would I be breaking any terms by chnaging my account to the Halifax Bank account (£2750 overdraft).

that seems like a very large overdraft! are you sure that the overdraft is so much as it seems a little unrealistic! and if it is right, then surely this cant all be intere

Halifax don't guarantee an overdraft that big (see other threads on the subject...)
The most you'll probably get as a new customer is £1000, and then you'll have to work up to asking for an increase -- i.e. use the account properly as your main account, have direct debits coming out of it, and fund it regularly as well as pay your student loan in there -- otherwise Halifax won't give you an increase if they see you're playing the system.
It's annoying, I know - I had planned to do something similar but it's not worth the hassle...
