iTunes account raided

I received an email receipt for an iTunes download today. Problem is, it wasn't me. There's only 3 of us in the house, one PC that's authorised for iTunes and only one iPod nano that belongs to my 13 year old, he had it with him at school when the apps were supposedly downloaded yesterday lunchtime. The PC wasn't even on as I was working on a laptop in another roomat the time. The downloads don't show in my download history on the PC, but they do show in my online iTunes account as downloads. It's only a fiver but it's driving me mad how it happened. The malwarebytes log shows nothing, and hijackthis doesn't have anything that stands out to me, but perhaps someone else could just look at it for me. Thanks.

As the PC wasn't on at the time of the download, I'd say it's very unlikely that your PC has been compromised, and very likely that someone has hacked your iTunes account directly.

If you have your credit card details registered with your account then it's fair to assume that someone else now has access to it as well.

In that situation I would contact the card company, explain what has happened and have the card cancelled. I would also contact Apple, explain the situation and request that they close the iTunes account immediately.

Fortunately, I don't store card details on any sites, so they only raided the money from a prepaid gift card. I've changed my log in password, and emailed them so we'll see what happens.

your itune account can be registered on more than one computer. it can be registered on up to 5 i think at any one time. does anyone know the passwords to your account? have you used your account on any other computers at any point?

My iTunes account says it's registered to 2 pc's. One is the one I'm using, and the other was an old one that I took to the dump - minus the hard drive which I took out and smashed to pieces. I've asked the iTunes people to reset the authorized PC's to just the one I'm using as you can't do it yourself unless all 5 allotted PC's are in use. How strange is that?
