    Could be that it soaks up any alcohol left in yur stomach - in hospitals they feed charcoal to people that have OD'd!

    Tunnocks (home of the tea cake and caramel wafer) also sells bakery products in the Uddingston (near Glasgow, in Lanarkshire) shop- they sold well fired rolls. They were still squashable/eatable though! I preferred the softer ones!

    Encouragement always works better than judgement.

    A very Scottish thing :) I'm english, but live in Scotland and have seen many a person with totally charred rolls in their shopping basket - yuk! I'll stick to the rather anaemic looking ones ;)

    I have seen those loafs in many Branches of Sainsburys. They are gorgeous. The more burnt the better! They always sell out really quickly in my local store.

    WE buy that bread its really nice inside despite it looking very burnt its lovely


    we buy that bread as well sometimes - its absolutely delicious.
