if i wanted to change my ebay user id how do i go about it and also
a. would it look dodgy to buyers and sellers?
b. would my sister still be able to find my new id if searching for my current one?
i am sick to death of comments from her about what im buying and selling, especially if its something i got from her as a hand me down from her baby to chops and it no longer fits chops.
also her friend bought her daughter some trainers but they didnt fit and so she gave them to me. chops is a big foot and they dont fit so i thought id sell them on ebay but if my sister saw this i think she would explode!

Not sure how to but someone else wil be along in a jiff with that info.
If and when you change then you get a symbol by your user id I think saying that your name has changed in the last 30(?) days. Again someone will correct if thats not right.
That's the worst that will happen, I guess most people won't be put off by this, perhaps one or two might think it looks iffy. Think about how you would react if you saw that yourself. I wouldn't be too bothered personally.
Just one thing though. If I was your sister and I knew what you had sold previously couldn't I just still search a closed listing for what you sold and then look at all those id's till I found you by location or by the symbol that shows your id has changed?
That aside maybe its worth changing if it gives you some peace of mind.Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Start a new account. Anyone will be able to trace you through your id of you just change that.0

sadly, if you do change your user, she can still trace you through your old id, i have had the same problem, some people in the family comment on what i buy/sell. however i think after 30 days from changing your user id, she will no longer be able to do that.
here is the page you need to change you i.d. a quick way to do it from ebay's home page is just click on help then type 'change user id' in the search bar.0 -
I changed mine halfway thru selling some stuff and had no problems. The reason i changed mine was that i wanted something linked to my name, rather than the obscure one i had. No one was/is bothered i don't think."I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

I had some problems with someone I bought off and when I started selling I didn't want any problems, so I just set up a new account. Very easy to do - the only thing of course is you lose your rating, but it doesn't take long to get it back up again.
Much better than all the comments by your sister and the worry of them finding your altered account. There is no need to run outside
