Wedding Post Box Tip

Hey girls, here's a picture of mine done up:

You could put wide ribbon round the bottom to cover up that clear bit if you wanted.
We have a John Lewis gift list, or have said B&Q vouchers would be useful. I don't know if we'll actually get any vouchers, but even just for the cards it's neater than a pile of them on the table. Helps my OCD side. :rotfl:
I bet if the seller cottons on what we're using them for he'll start calling them wedding post boxes and charging £29.99.

That looks lovely Sarah! I'm really thinking about getting one, I love it!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Did it stand up ok? I was thinking of getting one to decorate myself, but it seems small in width?0 -
Ours stood up fine! While it's only a few inches deep it's quite heavy being metal so it's not a problem. And people will be careful with it when putting cards in anyway. Photo below that our photographer took of it.
One thing to consider is the capacity - how many guests do you have? We had 80 people; around 45 people/couples/families who each gave us a card. It was stuffed full! I'd say it was about at its limit with that number.
What was great was, being decently solid and not too big, it was very easy for us to pick up at the end of the night to take up to our room with us. Which was good for peace of mind as we knew some people had put cash/vouchers inside their cards. We carried the post box and a few presents that people had brought with no trouble (most people had used our gift list or given vouchers so we only had a few actual presents on the day).

Good find OP - I've see some for over £50 - madness!
I think I'll just wrap a shoe box in pretty paper.
It's a good idea to have a place to put the cards all together, but I wont bother getting something lockable as the venue is exclusive to our wedding party, and I trust the staff (as well as my guests).0 -
