Hi - I'm over my mother's and I just redeemed a free coke itunes song using my mother's computer instead of mine.
The song I selected downloaded fine, but it now won't transfer to my ipod - saying it's because it's "not allowed to play on this computer".
Have I wasted a song? There's no point me having it only on my mother's laptop! and why did it let me download it to the computer if I'm not allowed. Please tell me there's a way of getting the song downloaded using MY account onto MY ipod!!!
Thanks.

It is because of the dreaded DRM. i.e. to stop you transferring tracks just like you want to from one machine to another. There are obviously way to circumnavigate this but we are not allowed to discuss such things on here!

mmm not sure on that espresso, if jiblets used their own account then i assume that mothers and their pc are auth'd to play iTuens on their account. Also any FairPlay music can be stuck on any number of ipods, but you can only auth 5 computers.
have you tried copying the tune to your own pc and copying it accross to the ipod. there is no reason for this not to work.
or you can authorise mothers pc put it on ipod and then de-authorise.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
um - sounds great.
How do I do that woo??Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
try and play the track on mothers pc - it will ask you to enter your apple id and then play it (though as you bought it on there thought it would already be auth'd)
when you have finished go to apple store again and under your account details there should be a de-auth button, but i'll just double check where it is..Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0 -
Got it!!!
That's brilliant - thanks!!!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0
