When did you plant it?
If it is only recently then maybe you could make amends but I put my garlic in way back in February for a crop in July/August.0 -
Too late for this year. Try again in November!
we all learn from our mistakes!!:)0 -
ah well, as you say you live n learn! They have been in since feb. The packet does actually say plant the bulb as soon as possible blah blah it doesnt state anywhere that i needed to split it... it was probably so obvious they didnt think to put that it needed to be split

I have missed a bulb or 2 over the years, which then sprouted again the next year. OK - the results weren't brilliant, but they DID grow.
Hopefully you'll get something this summer, but you'll also have more knowledge for next year's growing!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

Even a clove of garlic would need a much bigger pot than a 10cm one I would have thought!
What does it look like?

There's a video on Gardeners World site about forcing garlic. Perhaps it might be ok if replanted into a bigger pot? They leave the bulb whole and apparently each clove still grows into a new bulb, just slightly smaller."Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"
