    Thanks for all the help.

I would love to work more hours, but cut a long story short, im not there favorite member of staff, they underpaid me £180 as i did many extra hours for them when i first started the job, and it was classed as over time.

So i waited till next month and they still had not paid me, so i spoke with the manager, i said i have worked these hours, i have not been paid for them, she looked up to see if i was in on those days, turns out one of the polish supervisors had not written the extra hours i have worked, they could not provide me a pay slip, as they lost my bank details, so did not pay me on my due pay date, so i had overdraft charges!

So i started to kick up a fuss, saying i did work these days, the manager who does not like to be made a fool out of was 100% sure that i was paid correctly. My step father being an accountant kept records for me, so i kicked the door in, with paper work the size of a yellow pages book and demanded my pay, after a 2month battle and not being able to pay me my wages or a payslip i am promised this month i will have my money.

So after making the manager look like a fool, she wont give me any extra shifts, and is making it hard for me to work there, saying comments like i am not well shaven enough, my shirt in not iorned enough when she knows i am perfectly dressed and no one has made any comments to me ever.

So i am on thin water to keep my job :( - i am doing average 2 days a week.

As for JSA, sorry for my slang of saying i can "earn" i mean, i can receive more money by not working for the company and receive more than i would do in a shift.

    - i am looking into your PM now thanks.

    sorry to jump on thread.

My daughter is 19 too but she has a disability so unable to do the usually jobs students pay do, bar work, supermarket

She may be on a final year at 6th form. She currently gets £30 EMA she is hoping although we dont know as yet whether she has the place off to uni in September she has a provisional place.

Can she apply for income based jobseekers for summer break, tbh I cant see realistically she can find work she never worked before she did some voluntary work but they let her go she isn't thick just slow> I believe thats why they let her go she is also rather clumsy due to her balance which is getting worse as she get older

Sounds like you would be better off finding a new job with an organisation that takes care of its staff better and which can offer you more hours.

Out of curiosity - it seems rather strange that you have moved out of the family home in the summer months preceeding university, with no money, no guarantee of income enough to keep you, and it's this time that you should be earning money so that you have some money to live on until your student loans come in. Or, are you going for the maximum student maintenance grants by being 'estranged' from your parents? You'll have plenty of time to gain your independence while off at uni.

post #13 - you will continue to receive child benefit and child tax credits until 31st August, as your daughter is still classed as being in full time education. She won't be able to claim JSA while you get these. As she receives EMA, she will be eligible for a bonus payment (if she has fulfilled the criteria). This will be paid at some point over the summer holidays - the school decide when. Last year, my nephew received his bonus during the first week of the school holidays, but my daughter's school did not release bonus payments until after the results were out.
