Hi
I am trying to book accommodation for the above on 8th and 9th September. I have no idea about the area, can anyone recommend a good place to stay. It needs to be near the race track, and I do realize at this time a lot of places will be booked out.
Thanks

This for the Renault weekend? You are right, things will be booked solid, my sources tell me that 130,000+ people have got tickets so far. There is usually a good number of rooms to be had in the area, given it's next door to East Midlands Airport, but they are likely to be scarce that weekend.
What sort of accomodation are you looking for? Travelodge, B&B, country hotel, camping?0 -
Is it just a single room you are after?"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Alot of the hotels are fully booked, there are a few with vacancies but these are the more expensive hotels costing around £90-£100 a night."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

Here are a list of b&bs,guest houses etc so you can phone around to see if anything is available.

Thank you to everyone who has replied to me.
Yep it is for the Renault weekend.
I am after suitable for two adults and a child aged nine. If the worst comes to the worst, we will camp, we have two small tents that we could use but would prefer something with our own toilet and hot and cold running water. However, camping would be a nightmare if it was raining.
I will have a look at the links that you postecd sloppychops (great name by the way, my Gran used to call me that )
Edited to say that I have tried to enquire about renting a caravan without sucess, anyone know of any companies that do this?
Thanks again everyone.Jellynose0 -
Camping is free at the circuit but there are minimal facilities usually (may be more due to the number of visitors but I doubt it) and too many boy racers for a good nights sleep. There is a commercial site right next door to the circuit however which is pretty nice.
I would seriously avoid the dreadful Travelodge at the Donington Park services. It used to be reasonable but, when I stayed there three weeks ago, it was horrendous! Try the Holiday Inn Express on the airport if there's any spaces left. Or there are some nice B&Bs in Castle Donington, see the link above.
Best tip I can offer is don't pay the overinflated prices for food and drink at the circuit (as ever!) but pop to the Coop in Castle Donington first thing on Sunday morning and pick up some supplies.0 -

Try https://www.laterooms.co.uk We have used that more than once to find late availability and late rates when we go away.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
premier travel Inn in Ashby, cedars guest house in Ashby. You ould also look at accomodation in loughborough or Burton on trent, neither are that far away.0
