As Gingerbiscuit mentioned biscuits for kids - what about those "cake lollipops"?

Sorry, I can't remember the proper name but theres a thread on here somewhere with pics.

    And on that subject...
    what about cookie pops?

I had my first play around with cake pops at the weekend (happy to posta few pics if you'd like) they were great fun!
One thing I would say though is you will almost definitely need some sort of polystyrene block or a cake pop stand for making these- I improvised by filling an empty ice cream tub with rice then covering it in tin foil and poking the sticks in- it was fiddly and only just about held them in place (they are quite heavy and dense).
You'd want something much nicer than that to display them though!

    Good luck with your stall!:T

miss-coordinated - would I need to get wooden sticks for cookie pops? I ordered paper ones for the cake pops about 30 seconds after seeing them but I guess they may burn when cooking the cookies? And plastic may melt? Although I suppose it depends how hot the oven is!

Katiecake - Have found the thread on cake pops but don't know how to post the link. So>>>>
Go to top of page and where it says "search the" put Cake Pops and check Forum. Go down left side of posts and you will find Cake Pops thread there.

Thanks moonpenny I will go look at the thread now! I've been looking at the Bakerella site they're so brilliant I can't wait to give them a go!!

Crazy girl, I had planned on some of those, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to charge that much - I was thinking £1 each (there is one other cake lady doing a stall there who only does those and I think she's quite expensive, but she does them all boxed. I was thinking I'd only box them if people were buying 6 or more, if you buy one at a fair you'd usually just eat it, wouldn't you?)

i think a mixture of big and small cupcakes/ cakes and biscuits would be good so that people can have a choice how much they want to pay. And i have a theory, about sliced food. Many people i know would rather have individual portion/ bitesized food, than a slice of a larger product. eg cupcake rather than slice of cake. I know i always do too. Then i feel im the only one it was made for =) variety of colours works well to attrack people. I think the main thing is give people choice. Do offers for example 1.50 each or 3 for £3 kind of thing, encourage them to try more......... If you make celebration cakes could you display a file with your portfolio on the table open on the best page to get people interested in what you offer? You can get free business cards printed online nowadays too - perhaps a little stand with business cards on so people can take one without being rude?
