Land of Leather (sofa)

Bought a Corner Unit LHF black sofa for £899 May 2008. From 2008 we have noticed that the stitching on various parts of the sofa has come apart showing the cushion, and this is all-over. We have made numerous telephone calls to the company about these problems and there response was to visit us and take photographs of this. A week later we received a letter from the insurer mainly detailing technical jargon which is not understandable.
They concluded that the problems with the sofa were due to wear and tear but this is not acceptable.

We have taken out insurance for 5years which covers :

Accidental damage
Staining untreated
Structual defects

The sofa is not real leather it is leathermatch.

We need advise because we have certain rights as consumers, paying £900 for the sofa as well as taking out the insurance for 5 years. Even though the sofa is not real leather it should still last and we should be covered by the insurance. (Land of leather has become insolvent).

Thanks,

Monkey 66

Hi yep go to trading standards and the furniture ombudsman they will do an independant report on your sofa, and also help you, they may offer a refund however time may not be on your side also you could try the small claims court, and watchdog
    hope this helps
