I do not fully understand DLA, so perhaps someone could enlighten me?

If someone had a 'problem' that meant they ruined clothes, bedding and carpets on a regular basis, would they be entitled to anything?

If that someone is an adult, then based on the given factors alone they would be unlikely to qualify as they do not have any care needs per se.

Thanks - I just read somewhere that DLA was partly to help cover the cost of extra items needed, such as extra washing, clothing and bedding.

It is to cover the extra needs related to disability, which could be laundry but covers all sorts of things.

But that is only if the claimant has a condition/disability/illness that requires them to have care and mobility needs. That is they need day to day care from another person or they need assistance with getting around.

Quite true, but with more information the decision maker might come to an altogether different conclusion.

Go on OP, give us a chance to give you a more accurate opinion.

Which is why I clearly stated based on the given factors alone. Sometimes people do not want to give more personal details!

OP, could you (or the person that sent you the information) post the information that was sent to you please? It is a shame when people do not share information that could be helpful to others.

I am sorry, I am not deliberately trying to be awkward, but the person who posted gave me personal details, which I would not want to post. I dont really want to elaborate on my reasons for posting either.

The information I was given basically said that as each situation is different then you can apply and take it from there.
