Recent experiences

After a few months of not selling on ebay, put up a few low price items up recently.

Decided to give auctiva a go. Using the free HTML editor NVU to make my listings and then cutting and pasting the html text it worked great. The thing I like best about Auctiva is the abilty to pick your auction time and date for free.

As for the auctions, most went (two things didn't sell). Was not too bothered as everything was low priced anyway.

The surprising thing was the percentage of people who opted for non paypal payment, which was about 50% (which is fairly high from my past previous experiences) and they all opted to pay by cheque.

Also strange thing is that, I specifically state in my auction a discount on postage for non paypal payment, quite a few people sent payment with full amount!!

I only offer a discount for bank transfer, I really do not want the hassle of rubber cheques and waiting days to clear.

Thats a good idea. Just scheduling an item for eBay and have offered a discount of postage if the winner pays via bank transfer or cheque.
