You can buy dried flower petals online for just this purpose. No hassle required.

On the bubbles front - beware that the soap suds can cause staining on silks and satins (ie the brides/maids dresses)

i was wondering about using fresh flowers without drying them like the poster above, how about cow parsly flowers, with the little flowers pulled off to throw? there's loads about in the hedgerows here

Oohhh I like that idea ! If the rain ever stops I shall be out to have a look for some.

That's interesting - wonder if they are expensive?

However I don't want to spend ANY money :money: and have started confetti production!

Have used peoney (sp?) and rose petals - these are gorgeous and just the right size once dried and shrunken .... also did some mint flowers, these are nice too but a wee bit small so won't do any more of those.

It hasn't been any hassle, just put the petals on baking trays and put at bottom of the oven for 10 minutes after baking a cake.

The confetti is starting to look lovely - I just need to think about what I'm going to put it in now!

your confetti sounds lovely! If its any help I made a load of little confetti packets for our wedding - just a rectangle of tissue or crepe paper folded down one side and sewn on the sewing machine round the other 3 sides. They seemed to go down well with our guests too
