Oh dear, what a lot of disasters. I know I should not laugh but these stories have cheered me up.

What I found interesting is that I have to really nag my husband to put the rubbish out, he only empties the bin if it has been overflowing for a week. It would be just typical if he threw out something I wanted. Still you could look on the bright side and be grateful that at least your husband is doing his bit around the house.

    Best wishes.

thanks for your post and heed word of warning DONT USE BIN BAGS!!!!!!

We have very nearly done this a few times. Do bin bags not come in any colours other than black?

If they do, we need to get in the habit of having one colour for rubbish, and another colour for stuff to keep.
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

You can get green ones for garden waste ;)

In that case, there would appear to be a gap in the market for nice coloured bin bags :D

  • We get blue ones at work and green ones as well as black - blue for recycling, green for confidential paperwork, black for rubbish. So someone soemwhere sells coloured bags!

Yes Lakeland do Blue recycled bags which are really strong and big enough to put a double duvet in. They are slightly more expensive than cheap bin bags but is it OK if they are good value and better for the environment?

We use white ones when re-arranging junk because they are slightly see-through so you can tell it isn't rubbish

I saw coloured bin bags in pink, blue etc in an Au Naturelle type shop yesterday (think it was same company but under different name). Don't know how big they are but they were scented aswell!
