Professional and Career Development Loan

I am thinking of starting a MSc this Autumn and relying on a Professional and Career Development Loan for funding.
I'm worried about how much in total i will get if i get this loan as i work 25 hrs p/w. On the directgov site it says it helps with living costs etc if you work under 30 hrs p/w but i m thinking i won''t get the full 10,000.
Has anyone who been successful getting this loan, how much did you get towards your living costs etc?, were you in employment before?

Did you declare for other costs like travel, books, clothes etc.
