NOW FOUND!!!

Hi all - my sister lost her cat from the Manorbier Country Park caravan site on Thursday night.

He is White and Tabby with a distinctive C mark on both his sides. His name is Faustus.

We have searched the surrounding area and no sign so wonder if he may be trying to make his way home - to Llanelli, so may be seen around St Clears or Carmarthen.

Please could anyway who may have seen him PM me? I will put on a photo on when I get one.

Thanks!

I'll keep my fingers crossed, too.

It sounds as though you're publicising this as much as poss, which is definitely the right thing to do. I do hope you find him.

Make sure you contact as many rescue organisations (who usually have a lost and found register) and vets in the areas where he might possibly be, too.

post a missing ad on the national missing pets register.
also on any local gumtrees, local newspapers.
put adverts up locally, try pinning ones onto trees, newsagents, post offices etc

It may be worth putting a call in to the local Cat's Protection League too-they get no end of strays being handed in/notified of 'found' cats.
It is also a national organisation with good contacts(vets etc).
    Hope she turns up soon

Didnt know about that one - seems like a great service - I have listed him on there - http://www.nationalpetregister.org/mp/22999.htm

Thanks again, will help her take posters around tonight.

Starting to look unlikely to me that he'll turn up now. :(

Anyone got any experience of cats finding their way home from strange places?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I read on here once that emptying your hoover bag in your garden may help, as a lost cat will then be able to smell the scent of its home.

    I hope he turns up.

You do occasionally read about cats who have found their way homes, even across long distances. However, it is a big problem that he won't know the area as it is away from his own home turf.

I think the best you can do (and I understand that you've already been doing this) is to contact as many lost pet registers, rescue organisations, vets, etc in the area around where he was lost and on the way to your house. The more people and organisations who are aware that he's missing and that have your contact details, the better the chance of locating him.

What I'd also do to maximise the chances of finding him is to place Lost adverts in the local newspapers which serve the area where he went missing. Many people and rescue charities who find a cat check them to see if someone is looking for them.

Good luck. I hope you find him.
