Yes that's right techy fans!

Just released news by Steve Jobs meaning old Iphone (3GS) will go cheap over the next few months and eventually (fingers crossed) sub £250

Bargain!

New one will include: an improved five-megapixel camera with flash, multitasking, and a six-axis sensor. As well as the capacity to record and edit 720p HD video, the phone, powered by the same A4 bespoke processor found in the iPad, also incorporates a front-facing camera for video conferencing. A new service, dubbed 'Face Time', will facilitate iPhone to iPhone video-calling with support for open standards which Apple believe will encourage use of front camera by other apps, but will only work on WiFi connections at launch.

The company is also including its IPS-based screen technology, which will see the number of pixels quadruple from the previous flagship iPhone model, the 3GS. With 78 per cent of the pixels of the much larger iPad, the new screen is claimed to include more detail than the human retina can see at a distance of 10-12 inches. Though it includes a larger battery which will boost standy time to 300 hours, the model, at 9mm in thickness, is 24 per cent slimmer than the 3GS.

The 3GS is dropping to a minimum of 8Gb too, so there is a very good chance that will be a reasonable price - An 8Gb iPod touch with a built in phone and completely compatible with iOS4 including the multitasking - I think they'll stop making the Touch 8Gb soon.

How long do you think the old 3GS will remain available?

It's possible I'll be looking to get an iPhone in November from work, but they may not allow this new model. Would be no problem with the 3GS though.... if it's still available

Apple have a way of "reinventing the Wheel" when it comes to iPhones.

"Face-Time" is just video calling over Wifi
(Which most of us can already do over WiFi or 3g to ANY other smartphone wither they have a camera or not, They just need to display at their end...)

They even needed every other Wifi device in the area turned off for the demo call to work (If it has that much of a problem it's going to be terrible when used in real life situations)
I'm going for a Nokia N8 does the same as the iPhone without the walled garden and gysroscope....
