Black Horse Underwriters

Hi - I have 2 miss-sold PPI claims at the FOS for Black Horse Finance. They are old loans so weren't covered by FOS. At the FOS suggestion I found out the underwriters were Lloyds Insurance. All this information has been passed to FOS and although they keep me updated, I seem to be no further forward.
I really just wondered if anyone out there has had success with Black Horse by going through the underwriters. Thanks.

Hi there
Just bumping this up for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Nina
I haven't had any success as yet but just wanted to let you know I was advised by BH on a 2001 loan that the underwriters were Lloyds. They then told me that was incorrect and they were infact Financial Insurance Co or Genworth as they are now. But Genworth are copping out so I'm back to FOS now. Good Luck0 -

Thanks Di. My loan was 2002 and after checking policy documents it definitely states Lloyds insurance as underwriters, but I seem to be going round in circles with this. FOS must have contacted Lloyds as I received a letter from them requesting further info - I called them to ask what they were after. Lloyds wanted to ask me security questions to access my account. I tried to explain I didn't have an account and they were only contacted as they were the underwriters. The lady I spoke to didn't know what I was talking about so I gave up and I have ended up sending copies of my agreement etc to them. This was about 6 weeks ago and still not heard anything, so I will be contacting the FOS again for an update. I'll let you know how I get on.If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.;)0 -
Hi Nina whereabouts on your paper work does it state Lloyds? When in 2002 was your loan? Mine was Nov 2001 and am wondering now if it was infact LLoyds as they advised originally! Good Luck0

I've gone and had a look for the paperwork but unfortunately can't find the relevant copy (I have a feeling I have sent the original copy to Lloyds Insurance.). When I received a copy of the loan agreement Lloyds also sent me a copy of the Terms and Conditions. I think it was at the bottom of this where it said Lloyds were insurers. It was 2 loans, one in June 2002 and the other February 2004. HTH.

Hi, BH rejected my claim for mis-selling PPI even though I was told it was a condition of the loan agreement, and as they weren't covered by the FOS at the time in June 2004 directed me to complain to the FLA.
I rang the FOS to clarify this. The FOS said they could consider my complaint if I found out who the underwriter was I rang BH who told me it was Genworth Financial.
Hope this helps0
