Complementary flowers for garden?
At the moment I'm growing only edibles.. but I'm getting quite addicted!!
I'm thinking of growing some flowers in garden as well. I have some summer flowering bulbs but that's about it.
Both front and back get lots of sun (though one part is shaded!), will be in ground in front and pots at the back.
I do have some wildflower seedlings, but was wondering if anyone could recommend any - I'm looking for either complementary to the edibles or to encourage wildlife. Many thanks

I am new to all this but, from what I have read, nasturtiums and marigolds deter pests on the veg so I am going with those.Preemie hats 9 :j0

I really want to encourage bees to come into my garden and bought a thyme plant which they love. I've got aqualeigas, lavender, geum, mock orange, eryngium, penstemon, buddliea in my garden that have attracted bees . Also have got seeds for next year for poached egg plants which also attract 'good' insects.
Can't remember which site it was but if you google bee friendly plants you'll find lots of advice on what to plant/grow for attracting beneficial insects to your garden. I do remember that one site said that most bedding plants arn't really good for insects.

Think I'm a bit late to start from seed this year, so I'll stick with my wildflowers for this year and look out for some bargain plants!
Really wasn't going to do flowers!! Just can't resist!0 -
