is there a way to check a number plate?

We have seen a car we like and can see the number plate on it, is there a way to check the car out for accidents etc?

Various HPI checks are available online, just put 'car HPI check' into Google. Usually the service is free to confirm what vehicle the number belongs to, but you have to pay a fee (ranging from a couple of quid up to £30-50 for a full report of its accident history etc).

HPi check you mean?

It's always best to get the EXACT mileage that the car is showing and not a rough guess as this spacks the HPi register up at the next enquiry...

Thanks guys, yes a HPI check was what i meant!.

We thought we would check the number plate out on a car we had seen for sale but dd found it again on Ebay listed with 2 different prices! One ended much higher than we were willing to pay so i guess they wouldnt be happy with our offer!
