DAB Radio problem

Not sure if this is the right place - sorry if not....
Some time ago I bought a Pure Pocket DAB 2000. To cut a long story short it never picked up digital programmes and I made such a fuss that they sent me a new one, which still will only pick up FM radio and has NEVER managed to get DAB programmes, tho I tried it often, both in the sticks where I live (we have other DAB radios which work fine), and in London (where surely it should have worked.) I am thinking of buying a Roberts Sports DAB2 and just junking the Pure one (which is long out of guarantee), but it was EXPENSIVE and I wish it had ever worked - has anyone any experience with this Pure model, and perhaps any hints as to how I might get it to work as a DAB radio ? Any ideas VERY gratefully received ....Morgan

Reviews of that Pure model suggest that reception is generally considered poor, and that buildings (and even clothing) can attenuate the signal so much that it picks up nothing.
If you're not already aware, DAB is expected to go through a major change in the UK soon, so if you're going to get another, make sure that it can support or be upgraded to pick up the DAB+ standard, and if it requires an upgrade, that the cost is not excessive. As I understand it, any current DAB radio that can't be upgraded will cease to work at all when they switch to DAB+.0 -
I live in Ipswich and I can only get BBC stations on my DAB radio. When I lived in Lavenham I couldn't get anything so coverage does vary.
Try this DAB coverage checker for your addresses.
