Inspired by the wonderful examples in your gardens!

I bought some bare root David Austin roses climbingbrides 4 years ago, And planted them as directed 30cm from the garden wall. I have a gerude Jekyll that is doing well , lots of blos, but the others - Winchester cathedral, generous gardener and one I have fogotten the name of have not flowered and aren't e en growing well. One plant has rust. My question- shall I dug them up in the winter and give them to someone with a sunny garden? I think my garden is just too shadyas they are in London clay , watered. , fed and bug sprayed? Can someone recommend some pale pink or White roses to replace them?

I would love to grow White roses against the Walls of my shady patio? Is this going to be possible? Can anyone recommend asuitable rose? How bug should the pots be? I know half barrells aremeant to be good but they are so expensive,I was thinking of using a bin ansd wrPpimg itin bamboo screening..

Any advice would really be welcomed

I have Gertrude Jekyll & winchester cathedral.. they where planted last year hoping for my first flower this year

Sounds to me they need feeding as they say, To get the best from roses they need regular feeding. An old rose saying is 'a well fed rose is a healthy rose'. A clay soil will need the addition of a rose fertilizer twice a year, in March (after pruning) and after the first flush of flowers is over (usually late-June to July).

I have roses in pots ,tyres & a couple of old bins too and never had any problems .. I roses in my front garden in large tubs which i got from these people lbs warehouse .. http://www.lbsgardenwarehouse.co.uk/Heavy-Duty-Container-Pots-PRDR-HDC/
