Anyone invested in one of Neil Woodford's funds?

Hi, I have the biggest part of my portfolio allocation invested with Invesco's High Income fund. Ive been dissapointed with its very lacklustre perfromance over the past 3 years. I'm starting to wonder if he's lost his magic and am thinking about selling it all (at a loss). I'm interested in hearing anyone elses thoughts on this. Maybe I should just crystalise my losses and be in cash? Or should I hold my nerve and ride out the next few years? Im invested for the long term, although dont want to see my investment with Neil Woodford dwindle down to nothing.
thanks

He is a good manager, I would stick.

  • What percentage of your portfolio is in the fund?

You have other funds as well right

He is defensive, over 3 years it should be ok compared to anything more risky

    hi guys
StevieJ: that seems to be the concensus.

pressuredrop: nearly all of it to be honest! Im getting disillusioned with funds, Improbably just going to concentrate on ETFs where theyre cheaper seem to perform about the same.

sabretoothtigger: I have 2 other funds, although the vast majority of it is with the High Income fund. I started shovelling a load in around 2006, about a year before everything went t**s up! I know its a very defensive fund and it seems to have been the midcaps that have really boomed in the past 2 years - not the big blue chips that Woodford favours.

I have invested a few times in both his income funds but, like you, am disappointed in the recent performance. When I look at Trustnet they still have Neil Woodford as a highly rated manager so am sticking for the time being.

"Overall, performing better than the peer group composite. Over a long track record, the manager has, period by period, consistently managed to outperform the peer group."

They go on to say that he does better in rising markets but I don't know when that will come again!
  • I tend to use several funds in the same sector, asset class, etc.

I guess I have a fund of funds. Or even a fund of funds of funds in some cases. Not good for TER I 'spose.
