UKDVDR - Won't refund or replace faulty SD Card

I was in need of a new larger SD card for my camera so shortly before a trip I purchased one from them (http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk)
It arrived the next day - however it was faulty and wouldn't work, so I needed to send it back.

Following their guidelines I contacted them for an RMA returns no and mailed the item back at my expense (proof of posting was obtained).
I thought I would sit back and another card would arrive in time for my holiday - how wrong could I be - Nothing!

I contacted them after and received these responses:

Our returns department will contact you as soon as they have dealt with your return.

Sorry for the delay.
Kind Regards


Okay thought I would leave it a little longer... nothing
Contact them again!

I can assure you the item is being dealt with and our returns department will contact you as soon as possible.

Ok So now does anyone have any ideas on what to do about this, I have paid for this item, sent the faulty item back the day after I received it and they seem to be dodging sending me a replacement or giving me a refund. They are still selling them on their website.

Do you think It's unfair that I have asked for a replacement or a refund after waiting weeks for this item????
Can I take any further action against them?

  • I would suggest you threaten them with a small claims action. I would suggest that you will also claim the cost of the claim....

    I get my stuff from a company called https://www.ketta.com - never had any problems and I hear from friends that if you ever have a problem they always replace anything very quickly.

    Did you pay via credit card? If so contact your card issuer who may be able to do a chargeback. Have you spoken to anyone about the refund or is it all just email?

    Thanks for your suggestions, I did pay by credit card and I am going to contact them to see if they can help on this matter.

    I have always used ukdvdr as they have always previously offered a really good service, It's just a pity that they have sent me a faulty item and it's a shame that their customer service has been unhelpful, and after waiting over 3 weeks for a replacement/refund I will never use them again!!!!

    They have stated they can only deal with returns via their online 'esupport'.

    I would try and speak to someone - even though it says that returns can only be dealt with through the esupport!

    Let us know how you get on with the credit card company - you dont get if you dont ask!

    yeah the personal touch can get things sorted out in the end. Saying that 3 weeks is a hell of a long time for them to check the validity of your claim.

    Hope you get it sorted asap.
