Self Assesment

Options
I am already registered for self assesment to declare my rental income, but as of April 6th 2010 I also went part time self employed with a wedding planning and stationery business, I know it's normal to declare within 3 months but do I still need to declare as they already sent me out the SA form - well i do it online for 09/10??

thank you

If you are just registered for self assessment but not self employment, you would need to register as National Insurance needs to be paid. If you are registered you do not need to re-register as self employed however it would be advisable to contact the Self Employed Helpline at HMRC and let them know what the other business name is. You would need to fill in two pages of the self employment part of the self assessment - one for each business.
