Painting wooden bath panel

i have a mahogany coloured bath panel and decided it needs painting, any ideas what paint should be used???? I dont want it to flake off and look a mess somewhere down the line!!

I would sand it and then use a primer then finish with a coat of gloss. I did this with my last bathroom and it looked brill, no flaking or anything. Hope this helps.

gloss isnt very trendy these days, i havent used any in 4 years of decorating (ok, once i have to use it)
I would key, and use some dulux trade satinwood (which is self undercoating) x 2.go on, adopt a greyhound
