As most know i have moved into a new build and am now starting to think about the garden.
It is only a small garden (unsure of the m,easurements) So far i have started a flowerbed running down one side of the lawn area - unfinished!! Very hard work full of stones/bricks and clay

Now we have a fixed shed at the bottom and there is a gap (square) of 4ftx4ft next to the shed (alongside newly made flowerbed) so i have been thinking as to what to do with this gap!!
At the moment it is just lawn BUT it dont get much sun and tbh it is a waste of area as we dont use it nor can it be turned into anything ie, bbq area or seating area due to its small size.

So my idea was to have a rock garden or maybe just turn the whole area into one big flowerbed that leads off the flower bed along the edge i have started?
What would you be inclined to do?

I am a complete beginner and am a bit unsure what to do, i dont want to go digging up the lawn and then get stuck as to what to do LOL!

Am trying to get piccies up so you can see what i mean :)

A blank canvas is so exciting! I think i would be tempted to put a large composter down the bottom cornerm (one of those nice wooden slatted ones would fit well and blend in). Compost can be made out of direct sunlight, though it may take longer. I believe the trick is in getting the ingredients right so that it heats up naturally.

think i would leave it as lawn until your children are older. it could be "their" area of the garden, for playing in, they can ride thoer bikes, make wigwams, houses out of cardboard boxes etc. their imagination can run riot. Also they could be given a couple of plant pots and some seeds such as nasturtian and mustard and cress, to start them off in gardening.

Thanks Zara, on the other side of the shed is a pathway and they seem to play there and on the main lawn mostly the area shown in the photos dont get used at all. A playhouse was an idea but the space is limited there.
I have a plastic greenhouse on the patio and pots and both have seeds and seedlings that they have helped to grow.
