    just looking at New Zealand playing right now
    have you seen how they qualified ?

    They topped a group with New Caledonia, Fiji and Vanuata
    Then beat Bahrain in a play-off!
    Thats it !!
    They played 8 easy matches, and even managed to lose to Fiji 2-0 on the way :eek: :rotfl:

    When you think the likes of Russia, Czech, Croatia, Sweden, Norway or Colombia (18 qualifying matches) aren't even here, after playing many many difficult games, it all seems a bit wrong !

    It's not a World Cup if the different bits of the world aren't there.

    Loads of people think it's hillarious that the World Series Baseball only features (featured?) teams from North America. The World Cup shouldn't have teams from Europe, South America and Token.

    the world series isn't called world series because it's meant to be a "world-wide" tournament.

    it was the name of the company that sponsored the event 1912 or something. the name has been maintained since then.

    useless fact of the day btw :)

    According to the beeb, there is no professional league in NZ, and also there is only 1 professional team. & they play in the aussie league.
    It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

    I did. Typically he's playing badly. Weiss appears to be the player of form for slovakia.

    Vanuatu is not to be underestimated, they beat Kiribati 18-0

    According to the Kiwi bloke at work, several of the Kiwi players are semi-pro, earning perhaps NZD100/match. Good on them.
