cahoot - dodgy website?

Has anyone else had problems with the Cahoot website this morning?
After the first page that asks you for your username and one piece of memorable information, the next screen was a page that asked me for ALL my memorable information.
I phoned Cahoot and she confirmed that they don't ask for this info. But when she talked me through logging onto the Cahoot website the same page came up again. She says that is not their website and somehow my pc is directing me to a dodgy website even though I am typing in the correct address.
Which is strange because yesterday I had a problem with my pc, because my sister had clicked on a dodgy link in an e-mail, and did the full virus scan/ad-aware/spybot/malawarebytes/ccleaner process and I am sure my pc is clean.
I am just going through the process again to be extra sure, but it does occur to me that it could possibly be a website error with Cahoot. So if someone with a Cahoot account could log on and check if you can get through okay, that would be great.
Thanks
Daisy

I have the normal pages when i log in. The first page asking for username and 1 piece of information, then the second one just asking for 2 characters from my password.0

Thanks.
I have just given it another go and am still getting the unwanted extra page.
I am doing a full scan of my pc now, but so far it is clean.....
I am bamboozled!

I know Cahoot aren't part of HSBC, but...
A work colleague had this with her HSBC online banking recently - it was asking for the full password not just a couple of characters from it. Normal virus scan didn't pick anything up.
She phoned HSBC who confirmed that they would never ask for this and therefore it was a scam, but everyone else at work tried the website and it was fine for them so we came to the conclusion it was a virus on her computer.
IT services did some digging around and found the virus, eventually. Get yourself over to the Techie Board for some advice if the virus scan doesn't find anything?Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
Thanks.
I have just tried to access the website from my other pc and had no problem at all, so it seems that my laptop is infected, even though nothing is showing up.
I'll head over to the techie board and get some help.
Many thanks

i think this sounds like the password reset page. when the password is enterered wrong 3 times a page will come up asking for all three pieces of security information0

No it definitely was not a password reset page. Cahoot confirmed that they never ask for this information. If the password is entered incorrectly you are locked out and have to telephone to reset.
Anyway, in the end I restored the laptop to factory settings and that cured the problem. So it seems pretty certain it was an infected laptop.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I'm 100% sure it was too.zzzLazyDaisy wrote: »No it definitely was not a password reset page. Cahoot confirmed that they never ask for this information. If the password is entered incorrectly you are locked out and have to telephone to reset.

It might be an idea to change your bank account and email account passwords now then.0
