A silly question from a FTB!!!!

If a property is up for sale with "offers over", how does that work?

Would you ever offer less?
If more, how much more? :confused:

    as with all properties offer what you think its worth and what you are prepared to pay for it!!

    if its not going to tender you could try a cheeky offer at below it, depends if you are in a good position ie. able to move quickly and how desperate the vendors are to sell!!!


    it all depnds on your situation and financial position and also how much you want the property

    have you checked on price sites the value of homes in that road? that will give you a starting point , why is it being sold this way does it need to be brought up to date, vendor died or something?

  • Perhaps the "offers over" and "offers in excess of" are an indication that the vendor has instructed the estate agent only to pass on offers above a certain amount. Normally an estate agent is required to forward any and all offers from prospective purchasers to the vendor, but this "OIEO" and "offers over" phrase may release the estate agent from the obligation.

    Just a guess, though - hope someone qualified can confirm or deny . . .

    £57K of my house still belongs to the bank, on target to clear 2015 but I'm hoping to get there much sooner.
