  • My daughter spilt milk on our carpets and I used stardrops diluted in water to clean it almost got rid of smell so waited till dry then sprinkled with scented talc and left for few hours then hoovered up with attachment on hoover. Seems to have done the trick. Hope that this helps.:D

Sell the car! It will come back one day to haunt you. nothing short of a nuclear bomb will get rid of it first drop of moisture and your back to square one.

there has been various threads on this, and i have to say when i did it my lord you would of thought i had killed someone and had them in the boot of my car for a year!!!!

I spilt the milk in the boot and i used carpet shampoo and a whole bottle of fabreeze, that did the trick for about a day and then it came back with avengence!!!!!

tried everything icould think if, bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, shake and vac!!! everything

in the end i had to get a new boot liner (made one out of some off cuts of carpet!!)

if yours is in the main bit of the car, i wish you more luck than i had!!!!! it really pongs when its hot as well!!!!

I had this. A 2 pinter in the footwell.

Much, much scrubbing with lots of warm water with bio washing powder. Drying out. Repeat. Repeat twice more.
It still had a v slight whiff about it, only slight. I got recommended HG Eliminator - an enzyme-based smell remover. Job Finished.

At least its summer, you'll be able to get it dry pretty fast.
