question about pre payment meters...

Hey, I'm having a little trouble with my pre payment meter for the electric...

The meter was using emergancy credit this morning, it had 89p left of the £7 emergency credit it gives out. I topped my key up with £9 and put it in the meter, this would normally pay back the emergency owed (£6.11 in this case) and take £1 charge which should leave me with £1.89 on the meter in normal credit (not emergency), however it left me with £1.01 and said it was in emergency credit. I've tried to put the key in the meter again but nothing.

Can anyone advise?

Meters take things like daily standing charge and any debt repayment only when the meter is in credit or when you top up. If any such charges we due whilst the meter was in emergencycredir it may have waited until you topped up to claw it back.
