OK, so i'm about to sound very stupid but i've spent 30 minutes looking all over the internet and can't find an answer to my very stupid question.
I need two new tyres on my car as they are starting to go a bit bald (still legal for now but want to change sooner rather than later). I have alloy wheels on my car. Now i would have thought that as i just need to buy tyres and not wheels it would be simple but all the sites i have looked at regarding buying new tyres never mention alloy wheel, now im paranoid that im going to look the fool when i take my car to the garage. Do I need to buy a new set of alloy wheels? That seems a bit over the top just to change a couple of tyres.
Hope someone can put my mind to rest.
Thanks in advance
P.S. Sorry if this is already answered somewhere but again, had a look and couldnt see anything

Just new tyres.;)0 -
Whether it goes on an alloy or steel wheel, the tyres are the same.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

I'm paranoid in case the fitter scrapes my nice alloys...been there got the T shirt.
Next question, how does one find a tyre fitter that takes care, i'm lucky and use a good regular chap but it can be a headache.0 -
Noone is going to take as good care as you would yourself. To them its just another job before clock off.To you its your pride and joy.Luckily they will have done it hundreds of times and so can do a better job than you could yourself
.
The best I can suggest is stand over them watching to see if they damage it.0 -
If you're that parnaoid, take photos of the alloys with a copy of todays papers in shot. Then when you get them back check them straight away for signs of damage. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

My local tyre garage puts a disc over the alloy now to help protect it when changing the tyre.0
