Advice re selling car that is costing me too much money!!
Hi all,
Hope someone can help. In January I purchased a Blue Vauxhall Astra SXI 16V TWINPORT Manual 1364cc for £8,000 from Arnold Clark. It had 19,000 miles on the clock when I purchased it. Since then I have had a location change at work and I am now doing in excess of 60+ miles per day which is clocking the mileage up. Due to my age (20) I am paying £210 a month insurance, £75 finance on the vehicle and £300 + on unleaded petrol every month and obviously the mileage is going up rapidly (now at 27000)
The vehicle is costing me too much money, infact near enough half of my wages per month just on the vehicle and I am wanting to get rid of it. I'm not very good with cars / sales etc, and I've never sold a car. I need to get my finances straight, and try and get rid of the car for a cheap diesel that I don't need to worry about the mileage on!
I've put an evaluation into the we buy any car sites and they're offering me £5,000 average condition and £6,000 good condition (which my vehicle is) however I've been told by friends that these offer extremely less prices of what the vehicle is worth and often knock more money off you when you go for the appointment for them to view the vehicle.
I have £2000 finance outstanding on the vehicle so whatever I got for selling the vehicle, I would pay that off straight away and the remainder get myself a cheap diesel runaround which will reduce insurance and running costs.
Can anyone offer me any advice please?
Thanks!
Antony

Steer WELL clear of the 'webuyanycar' site. I put my previous car details in there and it offered me £1500. I laughed so hard when I sold it to a family member for £3400, which was still under the market value. Try taking it back to the Arnold Clark guys and explain the situation. They will have all your details on file and should be able to offer you a better/similar deal for a diesel instead without much hassle as it's just a paperwork issue with the lease company too?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

It's the difference between the GM and Isuzu engine. Isuzu being the only one worth having.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
