I am on £70 for joint gas and electric for a 2 bed bungalow. Heating was only on when it was so cold bits started to freeze - even under the sofa throws and was never on overnight. Hot water is on for 40 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the afternoon.

    Teaching tonight. Pfft.

I have just worked out, possibly not very accurately but still, that since 20th April (the last reading on the last bill) that we have used £43 gas and £58 elec. which is £101, so I dont understand how they can justify £91 a month, far too excessive I think!!

They seem to be a rule to themselves Lizzie - I pay £83 for a two bed house, but I have the heating on whenever I need it, because I can't bare being cold

    Lizzie,
I'm in a 3 bed terrace. They were taking £90 a month from me, I left it 3 months and then complained. They are not allowed to keep your money these days as a sort of unofficial deposit account for their benefit.

My day has been a bit carp. Can I please have some hugs :(

I have a sad relative whose birthday flowers will be a day late due to problems with the florist. Due to location to get some there on the correct day will be astronomical.

My boss is taking a sabatical and I have no idea how she will be replaced. Her temp cover person has given me work that requires O level excel use (I am more like CSE with some O level skills in excel).

DH's work all drama and crisis today too.

The good news is that I get to work from home tomorrow, so will save petrol and get to see DH tonight.

For the time being I'm going to hold off setting up the DD. Instead I've set up a standing order into a separate account for £50, then we'll just pay the bill out of that account when it lands on the mat. There is no way I'm paying them £91 a month that's for sure.

Lizzie - If you phone them you can tell them what you'd like to pay, they are pretty felixible and will review in a few months time.

We pay £70 a month for combined gas and electric, 3 bedroom,3 storey terrace.

Can also help with Excel if it is needed....comes of living with my dad who built computers and excelled in overclocking the processors. Best we had was a 486 (how old am i!) running Windows 95 :D

Also, am finally home. Got delayed by a fire on the line...so was an hour late in. Then went shopping and got yummy chickeny things for 50p (got two packs, had one for dinner) and eggs for 40p...so I'll be having omelette and scrambled egg.

Second yay of the day....got my Smartcities card so I get free bus travel and reduced sports centre stuff for 2 years (and it's my library card) Also got confirmation of LHA, £59 a week til July then it goes up to £67 a week, such a weight off my mind. Got water payment card and its £4.20 a fortnight (giggles at the lowness of it all) Also got council tax exemption through :D (And , if the council don't pay me what they said they would tomorrow.....I might have to go in and let them know!)

Only niggle is my net. I need to get mobile broadband as my connection is heinously slow and I can get a good allowance....now who do I go for? All the networks have damn good signal round here.
