BT/Yahoo! email down?

Just been on the phone to tech support - they're telling me that just about everyone on BTYahoo email hasn't been able to log in for the best part of a week!

I haven't received anything since 1 Jun, and I've tried multiple ways of accessing it (home PC, Android phone, 3g dongle and netbook, work's leased line). SMTP rejects the login, and all I get when logging into webmail is

The error, LaunchCascadeError-ymws:Server.MailboxOpenFailed, occurred when trying to connect to BT Yahoo! Mail

or

contact Customer Care about Error Code 1.

when accessing the 'classic' service.

I'm a bit !!!!ed off as I pay £1.50 a month for this (it's my proper email I've had for over a decade and I don't want to change so don't mind paying - when it works that is!).

Anyone else having problems? If not I can get back to them and tell them to not just hope Yahoo fix it at their end, but to proactively investigate why my particular account is broken.

    Sorry to hear your having problems. My e-mails seem to be arriving...

    Although I do find e-mails fo arrive 'late' with bt and didn't get a proper answer from the bt techie about why this happens.

    I had to swap to the classic mode a couple of times last week but it's been fine since. I access my emails twice a day minimum and not had any probs. I don't pay for my service.

    Mine's fine too (I have the £1.50/month option on a @btinternet.com address). One day last week I couldn't get in for most of the day, but it's been OK since then.

    Finally got to the bottom of it by getting to speak to the "Yahoo Advanced Email Team".

    Apparently their system doesn't like it if you have multiple devices accessing your email account at the same time. I recently got an Android phone which polls every 15 mins. This is on top my my Windows Live Mail polling every minute, and me occasionally logging on to webmail to check the spam.

    He laughed and agreed when I said that they needed to upgrade their software/systems!

    I have completely lost 6 days of emails though so if it happens again I'll be straight onto them to reset my account..
