Just turn up at airport and go

So my partner andd I have two weeks off beginning 4 Sep and we're not too sure what to do. We don't have a big budget for this hol mebbe 200 each for cost of flights and accom. To be honest the cheaper the better - we're saving for house.

We're not too fussy and we might just end up camping in Cornwall which we'd be quite happy with - but bagging a deal with some garunteed sun would be good.

Has anyone out there ever just turned up at an airport and just brought a cheap flight for that day? A friend suggested this. But does it really work? Any pointers much appreciated.

Where do you want to fly from?

Not sure about just turning up at the airport.Dont think i would be brave enough to do it just in case there was nothing available or they were really expensive.

Son and his pals few years ago went to glasgow and turned up at travel agents in town first thing in morning and bagged a great deal - drove to Manchester and had a bargain holiday. Left the same day
Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j
  • That might be worht a try - might be quite fun anyhow - we're in no rush and if nothing came of it we'd probably high-tail it down to Cornwall.

I was at Gatwick last summer (only June too!) and there were a couple of girls who'd done similar but couldnt get anything at all from the airport. Managed to get a friend to sort them out some not particulaly cheap seats on a charter out to Crete & (hopefully!) they sorted out some accomodation on arrival. Ive seen some really good deals to Turkey for September - https://www.goldtrail.co.uk springs to mind.

try https://www.xl.com much better to sort out flight before you go even if its the day before. or try https://www.holidaysgo.com ...I did a search for 4th and got some excellent deals from £59 (base price) to Turkey with goldtrail (link above)
If you post your budget (not just cheap) and where you can fly from im sure we can find you a good deal
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel
