Help with "supposed" closed Nationwide account pls

I used to bank with Nationwide, I emailed them via their messenging system online (I always did internet banking with no probs) to say I wished to close my account back in December
I hadnt touched the account since so had no idea this hadnt been done. In jan my car insurers tried to take payment by dd, this bounced which I have been charged for.
As this made me overdrawn I have now incurred further charges taking it to -£100 o/d.
My sister has then transferred some money to me to this account instead of my new account, thus making me only -£25 o/d but they have my £75 and I need it. The charges should not be on the account as it should have been closed
Where do I stand with regards to getting the £75 paid in by my sister back???

Did you notify your insurer of your new bank details so that they could take the direct debit out of the correct account?0

I did but too late for that months payment. I admit I am probably liable for the first direct debit bouncing fee, no £100 worth of charges though.
The prob I have is can I get my money back or return the payment paid incorrectly by my sister?0 -
Did you ask for/receive written confirmation that the account was indeed closed?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -

Thats where you went wrong. You need to close an account in person.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
