Euro trip type holiday

Aright folks,
I need your advice on a proposed holiday for me and 3 friends. We were supposed to be diving in sharm but due to one of us needing surgery on his arm the diving was out of the question so we have come up with a new idea and could do with some help from those in the know to get it all sorted.....
Right the first part of this would be to fly from any airport in scotland into munich around the 18th of september and go to OCTOBERFEST:beer: :beer: :j Does anyone have any recomendations for decent cheap hotels in munich? The cheapest flights i can find is around £170 from glasgow. we will be staying in munich for around 3 days.
Then we are looking to get the train or drive to prague (whichever is cheaper/faster). we are prob going to stay here for 2/3 more days to take in plenty of cheap foreign booze and see the local "sights"
From there i think we are looking to maybe travel to turin spend a few days there and then fly back to scotland from there or somewhere cheap nearby.
Does any one see any difficulties with this plan or have any recomendations? We are not looking to stay in 5 star places as basic accomodation will do as we are trying to not spend a fortune but if anyone has any recomendations on where to stay or where to go it would be much appreciated....

im fearing i might have left it a bit late to get a hostel or even a hotel room in munich as so far im having no luck at all trying to track one down. Does anyone have any suggestions. I know because of the festival we might have to pay over the odds but so far it seems to be a case of no room at the inn
