Not really, I don't have an account with them and don't plan to, free fiver or not.
Increased brand awareness will lead to more business.
Look at the Meerkats or the Fat Tenor for example.

The thought of having to deal with any of the grotesque specimens of misshapen humanity that are prevalent in their adverts puts me off even considering opening an account with them.
If I had one I would be considering moving it elsewhere.0 -
So annoying that I shut 2 current accounts, 1 credit card account and two savings account, when they asked for the reason, I advised them it was their annoying adverts, and they day they hire a proper PR agency and not do it inhouse I will bring my business back.0

Current NatWest ads can't be far behind Halifax in annoyance factor, they're so banal and parochial. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Well they obviously both work, as I can remember adverts for both Natwest and Halifax! Annoying or tasteful, their aim is to get you to remember them!
(It's just a shame they now use actors in the Halifax adverts rather than staff!)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

You went to all the trouble of closing your two current accounts, a credit card account and two savings accounts because you don't like their advert?
And went on to tell a cashier that the national bank they work for would have to hire a PR agency to tempt you back!?
So you were presumably happy with the service, security of your money etc (all the relevant things in other words that you want from a bank) and changed to a different one all because you don't like the advert with the staff running a radio station!?
You must admit that taking this action due to an advert is bordering on the insane.
Were you drunk when you did this?

Let me get this straight.

Yep, looks like you understood his post.
You are also right. People are talking about Halifax. For totally the WRONG reasons.
And before you say it, there IS such a thing as bad publicity.0 -

Do you honestly think if Halifax's business was showing a decline, or that people were leaving Halifax in droves, that they would continue buying up expensive advert space in order to show these adverts?
Or do you think that they are continuing to run these adverts because they've found that they are generating an increase in business?

People who say there is no such thing as bad publicity have obviously forgotten Gerald Ratner0

But the ads would not encourage or persuade me to use either bank so they have failed as far as I'm concerned. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
