It is a pity a lot who come on here do not do that, but alas, such is modern society that the friday takeaway pizza, weekend bottle of wine, trip for the kids to McOffals etc etc are now seen as essential and not luxury's. We tried an interesting experiment a couple of years ago after watching a TV program, we decided to live for a week on the minimum we could without resorting to scrounging etc, it was amazing what you can do, some fresh veg, a bag of spuds, eggs, spam, and some cheap cuts of fish fed a family of four for £35. We then examined our normal weekly spend and realised that we had been on average spending over £60 a week on stuff we did not need and in some cases did not use. The average family throws 20% of its food away. Conclusion is, look at your lifestyle and double your disposable income.
we did the same ...we went from spending 100 pounds a week on food for 6 of us we now spend 50 a fortnight on food and prob about 20 a month on toiletries0 -
Hi thanks for everyone's help, I have actually managed to sort it now!!! The problem with unlocking the account was that they were closed (or should I say the website said they were closed of a weekend I later foudn out they are not!), and so I couldn't get into the account to sort it over the weekend which was a little worrying considering the loan is due tomorrow, but I have sorted that now!!!
I think some people though need to remember that at the end of the month some people have to resort to using these kinds of websites for important things, we only use it if we are desperate, and I mean on our knees desperate for petrol or essentials like toilet roll and we cannot lend from family or friends. And I only lend if I can afford to pay it back- the reason I said I need to extend it, is because I needed the day to know the payment wasn't taken out by card so I could do the online bank transfer if that makes sense! It is a little confusing to explain if you have never used the site.
Also, £35 a week??? We are LUCKY if we HAVE £35 a week to spend on food... our monthly shop this month is £60 (I do it online a week before it is coming). We do not indulge in anything like take aways or nights out! I wish we could afford to!!! We have a baby on the way (so the bottle of wine is most definitely not something I get!), and so we save what we can. We like to have some money spare for bits for the baby etc. I dont really see why that post was relevant to my question though!
But thank you to the people who DID help!!!I am just relieved I have been able to sort it out!!! If the payment isn't made on my card tomorrow morning (because it wom't let me add another card!! I have phoned but they were no help!), then I will dispute the £15 charge I will get from it as I have emailed and phoned about it with no response!!! But I have managed to sort it out!!!
So again thanks

Did you post on the forums on the Wonga site. I was a little surprised to see a forums and actually surprised it wasn't just full of people praising them.
Seems like a forum post, can get things sorted/moved.
From time to time I do have a look around these payday loan sites and read up what they actually offer and how people who come on here and say they didn't tell me that, clearly haven't read the FAQ section or clear T&C's.
Not that I'm saying you didn't Steph and I'm glad it appears to be sorted out for you now0 -
When I was involved with this company I cancelled my card once and they couldnt and didnt take anything from it. I dont know about other Banks but mine issued a new card and the last 4 numbers on the long card number were different and the security code on the back was also different.0

Wonga could be the best or worse of paydays, for few days they might be the best option from the others, as they charge daily but if you are going for full month then, it is very expensive option.
In best case scenario, do not touch any payday loan.
Best of Luck0
