Blatant Shill Bidder! The cheek!

I was interested in buying something from this seller but did a bit of digging around and found that the current highest bidder on this item has bid on virtually every other item that this person has sold. To add insult to injury they have left positive feedback for each other for items supposedly bought/sold!http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D290019646089%26fvi%3D1&item=290019646089&rd=1
Will eBay do anything if I report him? It seems so unfair on genuine buyers like myself.
Oops sorry folks, posted on wrong board. Too many windows open at once! Profuse apologies!

Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.

Hmmm, isn't this supposed to be in the relevant (eBay) section?0

What seems to be wrong with this????? Maybe the guy is just interested in the guys stuff. If hes bidding on it himself or has a mate doing it then just be happy to know that with every win even if he didnt want the item he still has to pay fees so is making a loss.0

Ebay are always open to reports (that's how they ever find out anything as admitted to me by Ebay staff).
Best way would be to use their live chat system and message someone at:

Shill bidding is against ebay policy. The following text is taken from Ebay, see page here.
"If you believe that another member is artificially raising the price or desirability of an item by shill bidding please report it to eBay. Ensure that you provide the User IDs and the item numbers in question."People are more important than things0 -
I used to believe that someone was shill bidding on items if they'd bid on a lot of items from that seller until it happened to me!
I had a massive wardrobe clearout over the space of 4 months (got rid of 5 black bags full of stuff) I had 2 people fighting over my items, 1 of them eventually won 15 items and the other won 12 (both of them had bid on a LOT of my items). Now someone checking that out would think it was shill bidding when in fact it was genuine, so I now tend to take shill bidding with a pinch of salt unless it is really obvious!0 -
Problem can be just as the poster above has said. I myself have bought one thing from a seller and then checked out what else they had and bid on or bought more items from them. You do have to be careful when reporting these things incase you are wrong. However if it was over a long period of time and they were winning nothing i would be more suspicious"The darkness has no answers"0

i'm slightly leaning towards the view of the OP here, i ran the item number through a shill bidder tool and there are many auctions the mcbadly has bid on and yes won a few aswell, ive noticed they have items for collection and they left feedback the very next day so i suppose its possible, maybe i'm too cynical in my old age,,, report them, if they have nothing to worry about then they will not have any problems explaning to ebay (if ebay do anything) otherwise you just letting people get away with it......
edit. just had a look through the feedback and mcbadly bought an item on the 17th and left feedback a few minutes later. which is a classic giveway of a shill bidder, probably best to watch him relist it shortly.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0 -
just a suggestion ........
go to 'Advanced Search' (eBay)
'Items by Bidder' (left hand side)
Ender Bidder's ID
Tick box 'Include completed listings (last 30 days)'
Click 'Search'
Sorry, have to agree with Hopelesswithmoney!!!! 0 -
as i said above report them... in fact i think we should all do our duty and report the auctions.
don't let people get away with itListen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0
