We brought one 8 years ago .After about 2 years it had to have a new drum now i have been told the drums on its way out and obviously thats it as Dyson do not make the machines anymore. We paid the best part of £1000 thinking it would last . Is there anything i can do other than resign myself to making a bad purchase.? As it is the last engineer who came told me the previous engineer had put software on it so it runs like any other washing machine the guy who did it didnt tell me that . Ok it makes no difference but would have been nice to know !

Even though Dyson have stopped making the machines are you sure you can't get your hands on a new drum from somewhere?0

Only thing is how much Dyson would charge to fit it.Last time it got done it took 2 engineers !0

I have one of these too, I love it, hardly any problems, but last time engineer came out he said that they couldnt get drums any more, so if the drum goes it is curtains for the machine, Thats what he said anyway0

If that's the case then I suppose you may need to consider cutting your losses.
Personally I've always found Dyson products to be severely overpriced and overrated as well as often being unreliable.

I have started getting problems a few months ago.The engineer did say when the drums gone thats it.:(I just feel annoyed so much money and now its on its way out.The final spin on it is horrendous because of it.! Wish all the engineers were honest like the last one.!mrsinvisible wrote: »I have one of these too, I love it, hardly any problems, but last time engineer came out he said that they couldnt get drums any more, so if the drum goes it is curtains for the machine, Thats what he said anyway0 -
There is nothing you can do, you've had a good 8 years service out of it which is beyond the limitations of any legal redress. Also, given that you've had these 8 years I'd hardly call that such a bad purchase for a washing machine. As others have said, you could try an source a new drum yourself. Is there anything i can do other than resign myself to making a bad purchase.?0 -

I agree, it has cost you less than £2.50 a week. Not bad going.0 -
You could also spend out big style for a new drum and soon after another bit goes wrong, I'd say it's time for a new one.
Personally I don't spend to much on washing machines, I'd rather buy a new one than go down the road of expensive repairs.0
