my local solicitor tried to ignore something that could have cost me 40-50 times his fee later, or when trying to sell, all because it was in their best interest.
I am purchasing something that is, I think, low risk anyway. A full HIP was in place, all the surveys done in the last 3 months, fairly new building etc. My best interest is to move as quickly as possible with the paperwork, so that I don't get gazumped or suffer from the upcoming mortgage drought.
To be honest, a company charging its fees on completion inspires more confidence to me that someone asking for £1000 upfront, and then doing nothing. If I am not happy with their services, they won't get much money at all.0 -
