    Hi Everyone :hello:

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:

    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM

It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT

  • Hi Allie - Sometimes the lenses can cause itchy eyes do you use daily disposable ones? I know when I used to wear the long term ones which you have to clean and everything I used to get a few problems but since I've used the daily ones they have been fine, except if I forget to take them out before going to sleep (usually if I've had a few too many - ahem) then I wake up like this surprised-013.GIF

3Dogs - sorry to hear you had a bad night with your asthma you should do what you said and go back to bed;)
I must stop procrastinating, I must stop procrastinating! promise I'll stop tomorrow OK:D

I wear dailies now as I felt like i couldnt clean longer use lenses well enough if that makes sense - id be stood cleaning them for yonks and still they felt awful! i also occaisionally leave my lenses in - it's amazing when i first wake up as i think my vision has been restored to near perfectness overnight but then after about 10 seconds i realise that opening my eyes is a problem and it feels like im blinking through sticky syrup!

Allie - it could just be your lenses, mine have days when the itch, or sometimes if I've been somewhere where there are lots of chemicals then that damages those days lenses.

But if its just in one eye then should itbecome red or very sensitive to light (the pupil being much smaller than the other) you need to get it checked out straight away. Mine did that the first time I had uveitis and I didn't do anything for about 5days (thought it was just overwear of my lenses), when I eventually did get it check I got sent straight to eye A&E and was told off for being so slow, potentially making the problem much more serious.

I could never go back to cleaning longer term lenses. To me dailies are definitely worth the extra cost for the convienience.

Hello to Mr 3dogs from me as well. Hope Bonnie is getting lots of attention (but not so much that the others get too jealous!)

:eek::eek: I've just checked and although my eye is a bit red, it's not as itchy and irritated and the pupils look normal (i took my lenses out a few mins ago) i find dust a real lens killer but i dont think iv been anywhere dusty today....though looking at the computer in front of me i have so many dust bunnies i should probably name them! time for a desk clean i think!

Had a really bad night with my asthma last night - did not get to sleep till 5 o'clock - worst it's been for I don't know how long. I would still be in bed now but a friend came round about 10 am so I got up then - had my brekkie, going to have a quick look around the threads and then go back to bed

Update on likkle Bonnie - she seems happier today but keeps bumping into things with her buster collar :rotfl:

No news on posh frocks Spoon - friend with a clothes stall still looking for some for me but did sell me two nice daytime tops on Sunday for £5 instead of £10, plus I picked up 3 others at 50p each on anoher stall (all washed and pressed before sold & labels like M & S, etc) I won't start looking in the shops till next month in case I find something cheap first :money:
